In a world of multitasking and mobility, it is expected that a business offer free WiFi to their clients. Most of us rely on our smartphones and laptops to get work done when we are out of the office. With that being said, allowing guests convenient access to WiFi is a must for any business looking to create a positive customer experience.
Some companies will say that they don’t allow guests access to their network for security reasons, and that is understandable, but there are options to offer a Guest WiFi network. This allows your guests access to WiFi that is separate from your business connection, to help protect sensitive information.
When setting up your Guest WiFi there are a couple things that you should keep in mind to make it convenient for your guests:
Make the password easy.
(You shouldn’t need a college degree to figure out the password and odds are that someone isn’t going to sit outside in their car just to get on your WiFi.)
AND
Post your Guest WiFi password in a common area for guests.
You can even take it one step further and offer charging stations for your guests. With wireless technology also comes the threat of low or dead batteries. Have you ever been somewhere and the battery on your phone or laptop is low? Yeah… it’s not a good feeling, especially if you don’t have your charger with you. We now have a charging station for phones in our office to help those that need to recharge, and our guests love it!
Little things like offering convenient access to WiFi and charging stations for your guests help to enhance the customer experience. As you think about your business and how to get your guests to rave about you to their family and friends, think about the little things that you can do to make their day easier and more enjoyable. Use those ideas to go above and beyond in creating a great customer experience.
