Goals should be both personal and professional! Push yourself to dig deep and don’t be afraid to set BIG goals!
So, how can you start your 2022 goal setting? Here are a few things to get you started:
Recap and Review 2021
Make a list of things that went well last year and things that you want to improve upon. What stopped your from reaching those 2021 goals and how can you work them into the new year?
Set Measurable Goals for 2022
Define the goals that you would like to accomplish or improve upon from your 2021 list and set measurable goals to accomplish throughout the year. I like to write them as if they are currently happening.
For example: “I am reading at least one self-improvement book each month in 2022.”
Making your goals measurable will help you determine if you are on the right track to achieving them. It also holds you more accountable to reaching those goals.
Identify Someone to Hold You Accountable
You will be infinitely more successful at achieving your goals if you have someone who is holding you accountable for reaching them. I believe this is one of the most important steps to goal setting!
I personally love to write out my goals as an Outlook contact so I can easily share with colleagues. This tool also allows me to easily check back on previous years to see how far I’ve come!
